Let's talk about the wine tasting experience.

Whatley Wines pours some of the best glasses in the state. The tasting guides will walk you through each delicious sip. They explain the unique flavors without using confusing jargon. You get to learn, relax, and enjoy every single drop.

Whatley is a winery that serves not only Texas wines, but west coast wines (CA, OR, WA) as well.  You'll love the amazing variety of their wine selection.

They craft bold, rich reds that perfectly match a Texas evening. They also serve crisp, refreshing whites that cool you down on a hot summer day. You can even try fun, creative blends that will surprise you. There's truly a perfect wine for everyone.

a tasting side note

Over the years, my son-in-law (Shane) has improved his understanding and appreciation for wine.  During one of our visits to Whatley Wines, he was saying that he could tell the difference between Texas wines and west coast wines.

So, we talked it over with the hostess and she created our sample tastings.  She gave each one of us a different mix of 4 wines to taste.  Whether they were Texas or west coast wines was only known to the hostess.  The labels were face-down in front of each glass.

We took our time, talked about it, and made our choices.  We didn't identify the grape variety, we only made a decision as to whether it was a Texas wine or not.

I got 3 out of 4 right.  He got all 4 right.  He bested me again (but I learned a lot).
