More than expansive views

Marble Falls' culinary landscape is pretty expansive too.

The town has quality restaurants that promise a dining experience to satisfy even the most discriminating tastes.

Enjoy the rustic charm and hearty fare at the Blue Bonnet Cafe.

The last time we were in Marble Falls, Judy and I ate there twice (because their breakfast is so good).  But they are also known for their legendary pies.

Or if you are after some refined elegance, try Adriano's.  There you'll find a menu rich with authentic Italian culinary delights.  It's located downtown in the Old Oak Square.

That's in the same block as Jardin Corona Mexican Restaurant.  My wife and I both love Mexican food.

As a matter of fact, when we are in Marble Falls, that's where we usually take a break from walking.

Most often we'll sit at one of their outdoor table along the sidewalk, just watching the downtown pedestrian activity. Of course, we go through some chips, salsa, and a couple of margaritas while we're there.

I also like the Bay View Restaurant, overlooking the lake.  One of my favorites.

wineries... of course

Marble Falls is also making a name for itself as a premier destination for discovering wineries. The Texas Hill Country is one of the fastest-growing wine regions in the country, and Marble Falls is at its heart.

Spend an afternoon sampling exquisite local wines at Flat Creek Estate Winery & Vineyard (east of town). A stop on your relaxing vacation that's sure to delight your senses.

If you are already downtown, the Cuvee Wine and Piano Bar are also right on the Old Oak Square.

Now, what about a place to stay?

You'll find an array of Texas Hill Country Resorts and boutique lodgings. Any one of which promises a peaceful serenity perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure.

Boutiques and specialty stores offer unique finds, from handcrafted jewelry to unique custom cowboy boots, perfect for taking a little piece of Texas home with you.

But if you must have unique, the Pottery Ranch has a huge variety of home decor, furniture, and earthenware. They advertise "Quite Possibly the Coolest Store Ever!" (and I believe it).

I stopped in to look around once, just to see what they had.  I was wandering around checking out things I had never seen before.  More than an hour went by before I realized the time...  and I'm not a shopper.
